The three ladies (we used to call ourselves “girls”, but we can’t get away with that anymore!) are Vocal-easeCarol Zbacnik, right, (we call her the “Divine Ms. Z”) sings the middle harmony and is also the guitarist for the trio.  Carol’s amazing sense of pitch is invaluable when working out the complex harmonies of the 1940s music.  Julie Enea, left, sings the low harmony for the trio, and serves as the sound engineer and business agent for the band.  Betsy Kohler, center, sings the high harmony for the trio and is often remembered for her trademark “hair down to there“.

This is a picture of The Boogie Men -- Sal on sax, Ned on bass, and Jim on guitar -- at the St. Stephen's Dinner Dance in Walnut Creek.

Our players are The Boogie Men and for three guys, they cover a lot of ground.  Jim Matejcek, right, plays guitar for the band.  Due to his likeness to a famous cleaning idol, we call him “Mr. Clean”!  Ned Canepa, left, plays bass and trumpet for the band.  Ned is our rock — he keeps us locked in the groove, whatever genre it might be.  Sal “Tudi” Bruno, center, plays keyboard and sax, and also sings a few songs for the band.  Sal’s playing style has earned him a few nicknames...Sassy Sal and The Big Daddy!  And we want you to know that he practices “safe sax”.

We play with some fantastic and versatile drummers including:  Larry “Animal” Widener, Peter Riso, Nick Woodson, and Martin Johnson.
